An underrated piece of the Angels future. Walbert Urena has been clicking lately in AA with just 4 runs allowed over his last 16 IP and 15 Ks. Still need to see him settle into this pace, but with time he can develop into a real weapon for the Angels future rotation 🎯.

If the Angels sold all their rentals and some controllable contracts for hauls I would happily watch every game free from the neuroticism of living and dying on every single pitch and every game outcome.

@D1SCHER Genuine question- if Angels sold everyone and did everything you want, would you still watch and tweet about them everyday???. What reason would you have to watch them.?. They wouldn't be competitive and you wouldn't care to follow at that point. so you would retire then?.

Angels continue to lose the games that matter most (sad!) because of poor defense and awful late inning relief work. If the Angels do buy it needs to be for quality relief and defense. Not saying they should, but a good defensive CF and two quality arms would go a long way.

The Angels most divisive game of the season starts in an hour! They may not offer a consistent product, but they sure do know how to keep it interesting. A win today can turn into big swings at the deadline, and a loss might turn into wins by fire sale 😵‍💫. Light that baby up?.

The Angels 2025 draftee TJ Ford has found some influence from Torii Hunter as the draft class gets loose with the org. in Arizona. "I can see myself playing like him a lot. I've asked him about the base stealing, the defense, being at the plate and how he thinks during the game".

Angels Luke Lacourse elaborations. “[In] college you're more competing for a spot than developing. That was a big part of my decision. When I head down to Tempe I'll be working on myself and not competing for innings already. That will be the best thing for my future.”.

Angels draftee Nick Rodriguez on his transition to pro ball. "The biggest thing I'm taking is my confidence. I know I've excelled before, I know I'm capable of numbers. There will be learning curves, that's pro-ball. But I prepared, I've put in the work. Now we go compete.".

The more I look into the Angels draft the more I'm convinced Ivan Tatis will be the big sleeper. Eye-popping power for a prep SS that comes off a quick, compact swing laid by fast hands through the zone. If he can hold his approach up he will take a lot of people by surprise.

That's it. It's time to eliminate extra innings and end every tie game on a swing off. Or at least for the World Baseball Classic 🤔💭.

Now that the draft is over, back to Angels farm news! Camden Minacci has turned his season around in an incredible way as of late, spinning a 1.72 ERA across his last 15.2 IP dating back to June 15th, holding hitters to a .211 AVG while stranding 84.3% of baserunners in the span.

The Angels finish the draft by picking another low IP college arm, Sam Tookoian, with big upside. Leveraging upside against experience, which plays well with their strategy of spending big on prep. Another great draft league arm, 35.6% K% in 2024 (only 3 IP w/Ole Miss 2025).
