Short-term future remails very dark for the people of Iran. Regime will continue its brutal crackdown and executions. Maybe they stopped hanging people but they will find other ways to kill and torture.

Trump talked tough, but the mullahs didn't budge. It looks like a bluff that didn't land, so he backed off. His truth social post from today is a clear sign of that.

The US doesn't currently seem to have the positioned assets, political will, or regional setup for a large scale campaign to actually topple the regime. Iran isn't Venezuela, much harder nut to crack militarily and logistically.

Any limited strike that doesn't seriously damage the regime's core capabilities will backfire badly. It only gives the regime an excuse to turn even more vicious internally. Expect more massacres, executions, and repression against the people.

A small, symbolic strike from the US and/or Israel won't change anything meaningful for the regime. Iran will respond in kind, just enough to save face, and that's likely the end of it. No real deterrence, no regime weakening.
