Awesome work by @ciddpsu member @EmilyHowerton6 and others of the #COVID19 Scenario Modeling Hub to visualize potential timing of peak cases across U.S. for #omicron scenarios.

The big question on everyone's mind is "when will the omicron wave peak". Across scenarios, the average projected peak time across models is this week or the next. Several states are projected to have later peaks, none later than mid-February. (2/7)

Great to see and hear related coverage from NPR involving @JustinLessler and a quick quote from @nataliexdean. Additional info in the story about why our results support cautious optimism, particularly at the national-level over the next few months. (2/3).

Though infections are still sky-high, the U.S. may be turning a corner, according to a consortium of researchers who forecast the pandemic. And we may well be spared a winter surge.

A text from a colleague: "Ok how on earth has Twitter decided that we know VE against variants?" 🤔. Twitter does love certainty! But better to think about VE against variants in terms of likely ranges rather than precise estimates. So how do make these assessments? A thread.

Over the past day or so, you may have read news articles like the one below, which describe how US could avoid another "wave" with high levels of vaccinations and moderate use of other preventive measures. For those wondering, how this is done. Here's a quick tweetorial. 1/24.
