More courthouse Kafka in Japan. If you sue a corporation you need to present their registration to the court. The data can be downloaded from the MOJ data base for 331yen, but the court won’t take it. You have to get the same data on a piece of paper with a hanko stamp from MOJ.

Kafkaesque! Court records of trials in Japan are public. But you have to know the docket number, go to the courthouse (no on-line access), and can’t make copies. So you can’t, for example, search for all cases where a given person or company was a plaintiff or defendant.
日本で原則として誰でも裁判記録を閲覧できる。但し、事件番号を先に知らないと行けないが、政府は検索可能なデータベースを公開していない。さらに難点を上げると、オンライン閲覧は不可能で、当該裁判所に行かないとならない。コピーもできない。 誰か、突破口を知っていますか？

今年9月7日に土佐清水市文化会館で「地震学の現状と限界〜想定外を想定しよう」と題した講演した。講演代の支払い期限は10月末だったがまだ未払。9年前に同講演者派遣会社(熊本のアプローズ・ケイ)に対して同様な苦情があった。他に同様な 経験があった人はご連絡ください。DM若しくは私のHPへ。
今朝はまず年末の事務仕事。熊本市の（有）アプローズ・ケイ（代表藤江健二）という会社は再三の請求にも拘わらず平成２５年１２月８日に愛知県松山男女共同参画センターで行った講演会の講演料がいまだに一部未払いになっている。内容証明で通知書も送ったのだが。

大変重要な論点 時々悪質な雇い主は社会保険を天引きするが政府に送金せずにその金を横領することがある。外国人労働者はそのようにやられたならば政府は救済措置を取るべき。また、政府は徹底的にそのような横領を取り締まるべき。
This has happened to countless friends of mine. One friend was told by his English school that they were paying his pension, but in reality, they were just pocketing the money. He didn’t find out until much later, and by then he owed a large sum.

It would be more scientifically accurate to say that a magnitude-7 quake under Japan strikes somewhere every ten years or so, and that we can’t say when or where the next one will be. Tokyo is no more (and no less) likely than anywhere else, given present science.

Seismologist here. Your video about what would happen if a quake hit Tokyo was mostly OK, but unfortunately you reported government probability forecasts (70% chance a big quake will hit Tokyo in the next 30 years) as fact, when they’re not. @AbroadInJapan
