Or probably start a GovTech Tax or something with laid-off senior talents from local startups 🤔.

I think the government should give some chance to local / national UI/UX design agencies / studios / talents for nation-wide systems, because some of us actually have better ideas on how the coretax should be as a usable, unified system that enhances taxpayers’ experience.

Then how can 2-3 companies from abroad get full context & accurate subject matter opinion? I wouldn’t be surprised if the client (i.e. DJP) are also responsible for making the coretax a failed system.

The majority of taxpayers in Indonesia are not well aware of their own tax calculations. Every mid-March, they fumble with their Annual Tax Return / SPT Tahunan(an assumption/generalization based on a lot of educated middle class friends).

I just set up an incorporated design studio without a tax consultant (yet) and I can testify that Indonesian tax system is a mess & tax unification effort is a HUGE undertaking.
