Tents are really only a permitting shortcut and a terrible one at that. The real winner is just stacking a bunch of shipping containers 2-3 high into a courtyard and running shade cloth across the inside top. That's how the factories in Mexico do it.

You haven't been expanding very long if you haven't run into the big issues with giant tent buildings and switch over to prefabricated steel which is cheaper and wayyyyy better. Just pull the permits now instead of wishing you had in 6 months lol.

If you're not expanding fast enough to need tents, you need to reevaluate your roadmap.

Im getting back to it. Watched a video and it looks like I can relocate the gas tank without unhooking it.

I might just have to replace the air filter and do an oil change while I'm in here. Poor guy deserved a better life. But it persevered.

I'm finally inside but probably taking a break, need to figure out how to drain the gas tank so I don't get gas all over the garage if a hose pops off. I have an extractor but it's got a lot of oil on it already.

This thing is beautiful engineering on the inside, the shock mounts, the cast parts, the molded parts. All so damn awesome. A ton of engineering disciplines highly concentrated and tightly packaged

On this episode of engineering marvels, I take apart a Honda generator that has gone to burning man 10 times with zero maintenance. To replace the first thing that failed: the pull starter rope

Also send me free Metrology equipment plz. I have selected ERP systems for multiple large engineering firms. My opinions are based largely on the quality of the swag 🤣.

Stalking on LinkedIn and cold outreach sequence isn’t doing it anymore. If you’re an ERP provider and you don’t track down my home address and send me stuff then I can’t take you seriously as a platform

Some people it all goes straight to their head if they raise money it makes them feel too special. Reality still governs outcomes. Distortion fields aren't infinite. But more ventures should take bigger risks imo.

Easier to teach the prickly engineers how to relate to people than teach relatable people how to do dark technical wizardry. Time costs a lot more than money tho so most funds are unwilling to invest. And sometimes the lessons have to be learned before the ego is stoked.

Many funds out here with theses of funding doe eyed young folks or attention seeking hoes. I’m sure that works but. If I had a fund I’d find all the most prickly engineers. Where if you say the wrong thing you step on a land mine and they erupt into a rant. Engineers with.

One time I was casually staring at a roll ring for a rocket stage during integration and one of the pockets on the weldment was packed with aluminum chips. Probably could fill up 3x or 4x 2 liter bottles. FOD is sneaky.

There’ve been decades of progress stopping Foreign Object Debris (FOD) in aviation. Imagine landing a human-class lander on the Moon or Mars where the entire surface is nothing but FOD. It is crazy to think of routine planetary missions without landing pads.

No. Probably most astronauts won't have degrees in 20 years. If we don't fuck it up.

is it a stretch to hope that one day there is no degree requirement to become an astronaut.
