6/7.๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ Clinical Insight:.Cataract surgery in RVO eyes needs extra care and tailored counseling. Even without pre-op edema, risk of PME lingers, especially with systemic conditions like diabetes. #OphthoTwitter #RetinaTips.

Until now, its presence in circulation was hard to detect, limiting its use as a #biomarker. Our findings show that circulatory SEVs can carry retinal biomarkers, opening up non-invasive diagnostic possibilities for vision-threatening diabetic retinopathy.

Most notably, we discovered a significant reduction of RBP3 levels in patients with proliferative DR (PDR). ๐Ÿ’ก Why this matters:.RBP3, a photoreceptor-derived protein, has been known for its protective role in retinal health.
