If you care about the science of reading, please take the time to learn about the cuts to NIH. NIH has funded much of the research on reading and it's heartbreaking to think of the work grinding to a halt... right at the time when public interest in its findings is so high.

These cuts will devastate the work I & so many others do for our most vulnerable children with disabilities. On a personal note, I was saved from aggressive breast cancer bc of the work #NIH funded. This will not make America great. This will devastate us ALL to the core.

Keep them coming! It feels good to shed the confusion or embarrassment and it's really helpful to talk about how much instruction matters... even to those who might otherwise have seemed like they were doing fine without a solid foundation.
