Pam and I are blessed again with the opportunity to worship with the family of FBC Brewton. I have a few more Sundays with them during the church’s interim period.

Grateful to the Lord for the generosity that Alabama Baptists demonstrated in their giving through the Cooperative Program last year. Gifts exceeded the previous year by more than $1 million. This benefits the Kingdom in incalculable ways.

I was encouraged and blessed by the ALCAP Prayer Rally at the State House today. I am grateful for the ministry of Greg Davis who represents us in matters of public policy throughout Alabama. (Photos by Doug Rogers)

Let us all join in prayer for the Cities Church in Minneapolis, as well as other churches in the area, as they seek to be salt and light in a time of chaos.

Al Mohler is exactly right. Intrusions or infringements upon our religious liberty must not be tolerated.
I normally do not post to social media on the Lord’s Day, but the unspeakably evil intrusion of a leftist mob into a Christian worship service today in Minneapolis must be called out for what it is—and Federal authorities should be fast and effective in response.

Pam and I enjoyed worshipping with the FBC Brewton church family. I am supply preaching there for several Sundays. Pray for them as they seek God’s man to lead them in the days to come.

One of the CP ambassadors for your State Board of Missions has written an excellent blog about the Cooperative Program. Well worth consideration!

During 2026, our theme for Alabama Baptists is “Encouragers.” The theme verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another…” Let’s focus on being encouragers in a discouraging world. Everyone needs encouragement, and who better to do that than God’s people?

I am thrilled by so many reports of churches exceeding their Lottie Moon Offering goals. This is yet another evidence of the sacrificial giving on the part of Alabama Baptists. I am glad to be a part of the Alabama Baptist family.

During this Christmas and New Year’s, let us rededicate ourselves to the efforts of sharing the love of Christ with others. Let us extend a spirit of grace toward people in need. Let us live a joy-filled life so that others can see Jesus in us. May 2026 be our most productive

Reading candid comments by former U.S. Senator Ben Sasse concerning his health reminded me that dealing with the reality of death is much more reassuring and comforting for a believer. Thank you, Senator Sasse, for your heartfelt testimony and your extraordinary example of being

Many concerns trouble me related to the times in which we live. One of them is the growing antisemitism which leaves death and destruction in its wake. 1935-1945 Germany is a stark reminder of what happens when evil reigns.

We need to show respect for the dead. Whether we are talking about the murder of Charlie Kirk or that of Rob Reiner and his wife or anyone else, common decency should lead us to be at our best when the worst happens.
