Happy Monday science teachers. I think I'm going to write this into my work plan and maybe cross-stitch a wall hanging for my office. Source: NRC Framework and the folks at

If your HS science department is looking for #ngss phenomena to build some units around in a multidisciplinary way, Chapter 7 You Are Where You Eat starts with this sentence: “Imagine you’re a deuterium atom.” Kudos @r_heisman for this book. @MSTAMich #bio #physics #chem #earth

Just a few pages into @create4stem @MSUCollegeofEd David Stoupe’s new book. Has me thinking about how to support classroom science communities > “delivery pedagogy”. Looking ahead to Chapter 2 about pernicious myths that limit opportunities. #knowledgebuilding @MSTAMich

Make time. Kids deserve this. “10. Safeguard Science and Social Studies: Even the most content-rich English language arts curriculum cannot substitute for strong science and social studies instruction—and such instruction can help build literacy skills.” .

This weekend I sorted through some papers my mom saved from my childhood. The top one is my 4th grade self evaluation. The bottom, my 4th grade state test score. Random House published my 6th book last week. #MoreThanATest

Chapter 2 of A People’s Curriculum for the Earth by @douglarkin01 is timely reading as we head into spring and “testing season”. #getkidsoutside @Maeoe_MI

I love how they just zip along and then disappear for a second blending in with the bark. #springequinox #happyspring #getoutside

Happy Spring! On the eve of #springequinox we didn’t hear Spring Peepers yet. But we did spy a super cute Brown Creeper scuttle up the trees probing the bark. Pic quality not great but can you peep the creeper? (Video answer next tweet)

Dr. Denise Burchsted: “We have this perception that is really at the root of a lot of our environmental problems - that nature is a place where there are no humans, and that is false for starters.” 1/2 #mra2023 #misciencereads #msta2023 @WayneRESAELA
