Unpopular view: VdL was between a rock (#Trump) and a hard place (divided #EU27). She got the best deal available. It’s not good, but it’s not 30%+ tariffs (yet). A lot of the commitments on energy, investment and military kit depend largely on 27 tho. Many EU leaders….

Latest for @epc_eu. 50yrs of 🇪🇺-🇨🇳 ties but no occasion for🎆. While joint statement on climate may be the ‘lifesaver’ that allows both sides to show they can still partner constructively, it may be too little, too late to lower the political temperature.
