He's as much as a father figure as Optimus. You can read Soundwave and Tarn's total admiration for him as children who idealize their father. Overlord wanting to prove himself to him is basically a child doing everything to be worthy in the eyes of his father.

We need them. Part of Transformers is not only how all Cybertronians are one, but how all the universe is one. Humans are a big part of that idea and it's also because so many Transformers stories take place on Earth that the title robots in disguise has meaning.

Probably why Let There Be Carnage is the coolest one of the trilogy to me.
The best compliment I can give the venom trilogy is that each movie feels like the filler arc in a venom comic from the 90βs And I do mean that as a compliment

The moment an Episode VII exists, the Force becomes unbalanced. Whether it's Palpatine or not Palpatine, the moment you decide to continue Star Wars after ROTJ, conflict manifests itself again.
Controversial Take: Palpatineβs return did not invalidate Return of the Jedi. The galaxy enjoyed 30 plus years of peace, and the Emperor was nothing more than a broken husk on his dying breath, lashing out at a galaxy that had rejected him. #StarWars #TROS
