On Bank Holiday Monday I was the shore crew at our station for two call-outs, one of which involved towing a broken-down fishing boat back to safety with 5 people on board. Proud to serve under this flag.

Went to a Pizzahut for the first time in ages. It is now fully 'digital' which means you have to order from your phone and pay on your phone in advance, with zero human interaction. Someone brings you the food and leaves without a word. Yet the app suggests you leave a tip. .

Whist watching some of the Tour de France on ITVx I was 'interested' to see the number of ads for direct cremation. It was aimed at 'helping out' those left behind. In my experience an unexpected direct cremation deprives loved ones of a chance to say good bye.

The protestant reaction to medieval Marian veneration turned into an over-reaction of Marian denial. IMHO protestants need to 're-discover' the Mary in the bible - highly favoured by God, called blessed for all generations, with Jesus from beginning to end, at Pentecost etc.
