Kudos to all that made this year's #NEOER22 possible. It was great to reconnect with colleagues, connect with new colleagues and learn so much. "Roadmap to the Future" was a fitting theme. And thanks to the 2 keynotes, @karencang and Dr. Bob Awkward for rekindling the fire.

A voice for science and the character of Mainers
7/On a personal note, the fact that a brown guy with a funny name from another state who has been here for 400 days could be viewed as a voice for science speaks more about the character of Maine people than anything else could. Thank you.

In our weekly staff meeting (via Zoom), our college president and provost, in full regalia, recognized 4 staff members who earned their degrees this year from @GraniteStateCol . Complete with the pomp & circumstance march and cheers & signs from the crowds. Small things matter!

I can imagine no other president in my lifetime failing to address the nation in a prime time speech during a crisis such as this. On the other hand, I cannot imagine another president whose words would be less welcome by so many of his fellow citizens.
