People seem to oversimplify and glamorize the periods of hiatus industry artists like D'Angelo tend to take; sometimes the absence was due to nervous breakdown, abusive and entitled fans and corporate structures, mess, addiction, pain, etc. It's not always a sacred pause.

The issue being we don’t talk TO each other to understand, only to make vindictive statements at or about each other. I love both the men and women in my life for their differences and ability to witness and experience the world. Most of the people I know can talk to one another.

yeah, "Untitled" ends suddenly because the final version was recorded live on tape and the tape ran out. coincidentally it ends up making the song structure mirror the climax of an orgasm which i always found interesting. fun fact: that song was written & recorded in two hours.
@_DJShort I absolutely love how Russ always stuck with analog & never switched to digital recording. I’ve always wonder why the ending of “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” cut off so abruptly… I thought it was intentional. Apparently the tape ran out while they were still recording. lol
