The killing of The Post’s sports section also means the end of one of journalism’s most important audience-building, habit-cementing, community-enhancing services, the high school All-Met selections. Jacob Bogage tells the inside story

I'm much more accustomed to writing about media layoffs than experiencing them. But yesterday I was among the 300 journalists let go from the @washingtonpost. I have been so lucky for so long in this industry. -1-

I knew I wouldn't be able to outrun the wave of journalism layoffs forever, and yesterday it finally reached me. I was among the 300 journalists cut from the @washingtonpost , where I'd been thrilled to work for 25 years. It was a great run, with wonderful people. I'll miss it.

I was laid off from @washingtonpost yesterday—like most of the climate team. Working here was a dream & I’m honored to have started my career here. I’m eager to continue covering environmental policy and justice while holding power to account. Email me at amudalat10@gmail.com

My colleague Marty Weil is one of The Post’s last living ties to Watergate. He’s covered stories that range from local crime to the Sept. 11 attacks to whimsical weather musings. After 60 years, he was laid off yesterday by email.

Axing Spanish speaking reporters like @angorellanah, who've been absolutely crucial covering the Trump admin's immigration crackdown and increasingly aggressive South America policy, was colossally stupid. But the Post's loss can be your gain.

In 2021, I was hired by @washingtonpost to cover health disparities & explore the way racism & social inequality affects health. 4 months ago, I became the generations’ reporter exploring how health is experienced by different pple across the life course. Today, I was laid off.

I was really lucky for a really long time to work with some of the best in the business. But today I was one of those let go by The Post. After nearly 25 years, it wasn’t the way I expected to leave but onward. Next steps TK.

Religious leaders say they are observing a hidden trend among younger Americans The @washingtonpost breaks down new, complex data and does loads of interviews with young Americans to help explain the moment https://t.co/b2jKPeqCG7
