Understand the frustration, but it’s not like the Ravens were playing their 1s on defense. And having watched some of the film breakdowns, it’s not even clear to me that your star RT prevents that hit from occurring

If your potential starter is playing in a game (Daniel or AR) the starting OL should also be in. can’t convince me otherwise.

The Bengals offense was at full strength last night in their pair of first quarter touchdown drives against the Eagles.

Just my two cents, but I think there may be a circular relationship to the LT/RT pay gap. The LT role is viewed as more important, so the best players play there, the best players get paid more, the assumed importance of the role is justified, etc.

There's a reason 15 of the 18 highest-paid tackles in the league are left tackles and not right tackles. While right tackle is important, teams still want their best pass protector on their QB's blindside. And there aren't a lot of great pass-blocking swing tackles.

For the sake of covering all my bases, Huntley is as close to 0.0% as you can get and my expectation is that Watson will miss the full season. If he somehow comes back, he’s going to be last on the depth chart.

I’ve been steadfast in the last 3 months that my belief is that Sanders is the only player who could reasonably be cut (although unlikely). Most likely scenario (if they all stay healthy) is that one of these four will be traded at a net loss. Probably Pickett.

The “currency” argument is a legit justification for keeping all four in the short-term. IMO though, Flacco is the only one that could reasonably be flipped for more draft capital than the initial outlay. The other three are just cutting your losses.

Initial roster is one thing. The 2024 Browns were the first team in 6 years to keep 4 QBs on their initial 53 (before cutting one the next day), but actual active roster is another. Teams generally do not seem to believe carrying 4 QBs is worthwhile when it matters.

Since 2013, there have been four instances where a team has carried 4 healthy QBs into three straight games: Deshaun Watson's non-suspension suspension season in Houston, first four games of the 2018 Dolphins, and two stints from the back half of the 2016 Browns.

“Would you rather have an 8th offensive lineman, 9th defensive lineman, 6th linebacker, 7th wide receiver, whatever it may be, or would you rather have a 4th quarterback?”. We know the answer to this. Historically, it is not a 4th quarterback.

Browns are more likely than not to carry four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster. 🎧

My question is whether the epidural will help him deliver.

Sources: #Rams QB Matthew Stafford is dealing with an aggravated disc and has received an epidural to help him deal with it. Los Angeles has called him week-to-week, being cautious, but with plans for him to be ready for Week 1.

Terry McLaurin is the only player in NFL history to have between 900 & 1200 yards receiving in each of his first six seasons. (via @Stathead @pfref)

No reason for Sanders not to play 100% of the snaps on Friday imo.

The two #Browns QBs with hamstring injuries, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett, did not have setbacks today, but both will probably sit out the preseason opener on Friday.

Those will both show up in individual cap hits, but so does the fact that Dak has more years of prorated bonus from his 2021 deal, which doesn't really speak to either of the two very real points above. Or the fact that it doesn't matter if the Cowboys aren't spending.

There are two broad difference between the DAL & PHI cap approaches:. 1) PHI tends to extend very early, DAL tends to extend late.2) PHI is using very aggressive methods to push cap hits, DAL probably closer to the league average.

Key context that is not mentioned is that Dallas currently has $30m+ in cap space. Dak's 2025 cap hit is not stopping them from doing anything. Cash could be a different story, but they have more than enough operational cap room

@reinhardNFL What’s wrong with what he said? . Presumably he’s just illustrating that the eagles are using accounting and cash spending to maximize their SB window while the Cowboys are not.
