Society: autistic people are poor communicators. Autistic me: *I say what I mean and I mean what I say, use precise and direct language, am transparent, share important details, use grammar/punctuation in text and script conversations so I won’t pause, stumble or miss anything*.

The average child asks 200-300 questions a day. So if an elementary school teacher has 20 students, they are asked a minimum of 4,000 questions a day… 4,000! If your partner/spouse is an elementary school teacher, THIS is why they don’t want any questions when they get home.

My theory on why we won’t pay teachers what we’re worth is underlying mysogyny. Teaching is a “female” profession. Let me tell you if teaching were 90% male dominated, we wouldn’t be fighting this battle.

Young teachers do in fact want to have lives, travel, have children, god forbid own our own houses. It doesn’t matter how much we love the job, we will leave. We’re skilled professionals who can find better paid work. @bctf @BCGovNews

I agree… except that I believe some queer kids may experiment with gender on Halloween before coming out. We need to find that line there so people are can explore in safe ways.
👏👏We just sent a message out to @MontereyStorm families encouraging interested kids (and kids-at-heart … aka staff!) to wear a costume on Halloween while avoiding stereotypes & cultural appropriation, so we can have a fun, respectful, & inclusive day together!
