Groundwater travels farther and deeper than researchers thought! 🌍💧 This study led by @reedh2o reveals how deep and inter-basin groundwater flows sustain streams, with big implications for water resilience in a changing climate. @naturewaterjnl #Hydrology #ClimateResilience

How long are flowpaths from recharge through groundwater to streams? How connected are watersheds over the CONUS? tldr; longer and more connected than we thought. in @NatureWaterJnl with Chen Yang and @LCofthedesert

This “digital twin” of the United States’ terrestrial water cycle, once developed, will be used to project future water availability. @reedh2o
Predicting droughts and floods is tough without full water cycle data. HydroGEN, an AI project from the NSF-led NAIRR pilot, is creating a digital twin of the U.S. water cycle. Led by @Princeton & @uarizona, it aims to provide real-time forecasts to help communities adapt.
