Making fun of a trope that hasn't existedfor 40 years. At that point you're just doing the trope. Lot of "copying something that's copying something thats copying something that's based off a real observation" too. This ain't observing reality it's observational comedy off movies.

I think observational comedy is great but it's very fluid and people get so rigid with it. Making a joke about New York that hasn't made sense since the 80s. Italians and Italian Americans are basically different cultures, can't apply one to another.

It's kind of funny how stereotypes or tropes or really any joke that makes fun of something can often persist decades after it stopped being relevant or accurate.

When I was a kid I used to take my classmates birthdates and then subtract 9 months to see if they were conceived around a holiday or parents birthday and if they were all the kids who were wanted would start flexing on them and calling them accidents.
Logged on to reddit, saw a thread on "parents do you regret kids" top comments are all "yes" sort by controversial and all the "my kids are awesome and the best part of my life" posts are downvoted to negative lol. Community driving itself to extinction.
