I saw a few above 20,000 followers that did like or engage with this tweet. It’s not anywhere near my 15,000 verified and premium followers which at least a 1000 or more have over 100,000 following.

The x algorithm looks at posts engagements within a specific timeframe. A window of 15-30 minutes of when the post is first published. If the engagement is not high enough within that window of time, they don’t boost within the algorithm. They can also stop the post from being.

The throttling is much more intricate than I thought. By only showing this post to small accounts it looks like it’s getting viewed but my account never grows in the way it should, by many thousands a week.

Just noticed something new. Out of all the replies and engagements to the “follow me” post, nobody with follower accounts higher than 15k has commented or liked this post. It means that X is not only hiding my post (throttling me), but purposely not showing my post to big.
