If Notre Dame wanted to really make a point, they opt out of ACC contract, go back independent and negotiate their own TV deal. WWWF couldn't get NWA champ dates so they made their own champ. ND could do the same with NBC, for example. Would ACC lawsuit schools join in? Others?

So Conference Championship games are dead/meaningless which means conferences are meaningless. (Duke wins/ got hosed and Alabama embarrassing loss didn't matter) Non CFB playoff bowls are dead. If teams don't make playoffs, players will opt out (NIL questions, risk/reward)

Notre Dame declining a bowl invite appears to be partly an act of protest against ESPN, the CFP committee, and the system. ESPN, which broadcasts nearly all bowl games, will not see a dime from Notre Dame in the postseason, which will directly affect them financially.
