Ya know, I feel like its important to get back to a place that lets you be creative. For me, the city can be claustrophobic, and there's barely any room to breathe. Out here, I feel more free. With some luck, this vacation will let me get back to posting regularly 🤞

Celebrating my 28th. 🥳 I've had a lot of well wishes, but I did want to take a few seconds to say thanks to my friends on here. While yall are all the gift I need, try to do something nice for someone today for someone a present to me. Hopefully, this'll be a good year. 🍻

Back to back, two PCs go down after fighting Sirens. The most hopeless I've seen a player was after delivering this line- "You get pulled under the water, out of sight of your companions as the cold water fills your lungs. They like watching their victims drown."

Turns out that running a high seas horror campaign has really helped get me out of my DM funk. The ocean is terrifying as hell, and taking ques from The Odyssey has been quite gratifying. I guess my little DM tip for yall is to switch the genera of the game when things get stale.

I'm feeling a bit better, thanks for the well wishes. Now, I'm thinking about doing something crazy and doing a mini painting livestream of the giant turtle for a few hours Friday. Are there platform preferences? Are people even interested in something like that?

In games, do you think that respawn mechanics are a good or bad idea? #DnD in new editions has moved so far from its roots that keeping a character (with maybe a level penalty) would likely be preferred to making a new one. Are there any #ttrpgs that use this mechanic?

I'm happy to see TikTok go. I un-installed that 3-4 years ago because I realized it was a time suck. After that, I started a couple of businesses, got a dog, got in shape, and try to do more with the time I have. The irony of the name is how much time is wasted on that app.

As a relatively based Gen Z, I think our parents failed us. You stopped paying attention to what was taught in schools and tolerated the changes in society that made my generation morally sick. Now, by and large, we reject everything from your generation, including its morals.

Absolutely agree on the first two points, but I think there's an argument for XP. Kills to XP doesn't translate well, but it's a good way to measure skills. The more you use a skill, the better you are at it. Rework the idea instead of toss it imo. 🍻

This is a bit of a rough draft, but I think that a fantasy ttrpg needs to build itself with its magic system in mind. This is the starting point for all of Godkin. The pantheon, the magic, the terrain, even the fact its a d10 based system come back to this. Lmk if you want more.

"The land of Torpor," could be a low-level mystery where a number of settlers went missing in a beautiful land. Either harpies, or some other 'pretty' monster with a charm effect would do nicely here. Bonus points if they have a symbiotic relationship with some dryads. 🍻
