Strictly from the perspective of the best players on either tour, BO3 slams are mentally more challenging to win than BO5 slams 🤷♂️

The reason you don't see it is because of the BO3 format in slams. 3 of 5 Alcaraz Sinner matches were at slams this year which are BO5. It protects the top players from upsets. Top players on the WTA side dont have that luxury as BO3 makes them more vulnerable to an upset.
@realdevdp_ Look, the 2 best players in the ATP actually play each other (5x this year), which is what MOST tennis fans most want to see when following tennis. The WTA has a problem in that what fans most want to see, Iga v.Sabs, just does not happen enough (just once in 2025)

Pegula is the biggest fake “aggressive player” I’ve ever seen. She looks aggressive against these top players because she has nothing to lose and can just use their pace. In reality she’s just a pusher. Just go watch her match vs Boisson at RG. Passive and pushing tennis.

Typical case of player peaking when they have nothing to lose. Against Iga she had never won before so was just going for broke and playing freely. She had pressure against Gauff as she had won the last 3 and came back down to her real level and became a pusher again.
W/UFE ratio decent for Coco but poor for Paolini who finished with 15 W & 3 UFE vs Swiatek yesterday

It’s been 4 years and the Iga Swiatek serve has actually gotten worse. You can’t make this up… when will coaches start to be questioned for their competency. Whatever the entry barrier or qualifications are to coach on the WTA tour, they are severely flawed.

Yep when it matters most Paolini has shown to get tight and very very passive. Wimbledon final against krejcicova is another example. All pushers have the same tendency to be very passive when it matters most. Same can be said about Coco and Andreeva.

I see people wanting Iga to change something on her game for once. Well that’s only possible if you have a mentor/coach who can point you in the right direction and teach new things. She’s basically been coach less for the last 4 years.

The greatest pusher in tennis history vs the pusher who has beaten her 3 straight times. It doesn’t get bigger than this.

Rybakina is another example of what happens when you try to change a players natural playstyle. The same thing that happened with Iga has happened to Elena although for Elena it’s to a much lesser degree.
Negative ratio even with the pushing. She’s just made to be a ballbasher but ofc she wanted to push today cuz why not

“Wim Fissette is such a good coach and even more a great person” - did yall just forget what he did to Qinwen Zheng?

Wim Fissette has always been a fraud. But when will people start to realize Tomasz is the biggest fraud in history? He literally destroyed a generational baseline game but somehow no one even talks about it…

Like I’ve always said, 2022 was a delayed result of her work with Piotr, not a result of her time with Tomasz. The same way her baseline game right now is a delayed result of her time with Tomasz rather than her time with Wim.
