Crews increasing plowing efforts in Level A areas as roads getting snow-covered in areas. Scattered slippery areas developing as well. Use extra caution, slow down, drive conditions not the speed limit & allow extra time to reach destinations during your daily commute today.

Streets officials have been in contact w/Nat'l Weather Service. Forecasts: snow starting between 5 am & noon Friday with 2-3 inches projected, tapering off Saturday morning. Crews started brining main lines & Level A hills last night & will continue brining Level A areas tonight

Effective Tuesday, Dec 16 & Tuesday, Dec 30, A-1 Construction using crane for maintenance. Southbound lane closed on two separate days. Portion of sidewalk closed. Use caution in area while crane is in use. o One lane in each direction will be open. Completion: Dec 16 & Dec 30

Effective Wednesday, Dec 10, Heavy Constructors, Inc. trenching to repair conduit along pathway at Rushmore Lions Nature Park. The bicycle/walking lane closed & routed along Jackson Blvd/Hwy 44 during the repair. There will be no vehicle traffic to impacted. Completion: Dec. 17

'Pack the Pantry' food drive hosted by AFSCME & RC Public Works Dept collected amazing 4,877 pounds of food & $2,826 in cash donations. This year’s totals doubled amount rec'd in food/money donations from previous 3 years of the food drive combined=20,000 meals for those in need

Remember to place winter apparel items on statues of the presidents as part of initiative started 10 years ago this month by City officials. Gloves, scarves, earmuffs, hats, coats, even socks can be placed on statues through March 15 & are often collected quickly by the houseless

Rapid City's curbside collection service ends for the season next Friday, Nov 28 and last day remote yard waste disposal sites at Fitzgerald Stadium & West Boulevard North will be open for disposal is Sunday, Nov 30. After Nov 30, take yard waste to the Landfill.
