i am not much of a substack advice giver myself but i've been inspired by a sentence i saw so haha here we go

love those you cherish non-selfishly; learn to witness them rather than shape them. step out of your own perception, and witness the true beauty of the human soul.

and then you realize that their true self is infinitely more beautiful than the version you had imagined. there is no beauty greater than simplicity, than a kind of emotional rawness.

but loving their real self: including what they see as their flaws and fragilities, and even their shadow—the parts they are not yet brave enough to face themselves. to love someone like this is not to shape them, but to witness them.

giving them a space to be themselves, without the masks, without the fear of being judged or being exposed. creating a calm and safe space to exist honestly. it is not loving them through your own perception of who they should be,
