My small app ๐๐ฝ Starting small, I'm making this to create engaging social media images. Let's see how far I can go with this one. Link: https://t.co/FCz7HoKgnN I welcome any feedback you may have.

AI advocates yesterday: AI is not gonna replace developers, it will empower them. Same ppl today: Coding is done. Only true engineers will survive.

Just read somewhere: Programming is a "perishable skill". Either use it, or lose it.

Learning Docker today. Do you use Docker for your apps? Share links.

Trying Lightning CSS and PostCSS together for the first time. This seems way better than the legacy Sass setup.

Anything new that has ended or died lately? Some saying UI design is killed by something called Google stitch.

Will you be surprised if a "creativity automation" tool surfaces in the next couple of years?

Scare a vibe coder in 3 words. I'll go first: Agent execution terminated...

If you are one-shotting things (or even few-shotting) with AI, just be aware: โณ๏ธ the codebase is changing rapidly without you even knowing it โณ๏ธ It's so easy to click buttons and let AI do stuff by itself, but it's so hard to go back and fix the code yourself Use AI

With a vision of using AI responsibly, I rolled back to an organized, working version and started coding again from there. Not vibe coding this time. The coding-coding. โ
And thankfully, things are looking better now. I'm finally back in control of whatever I'm building.

Why couldn't I clean the mess AI created? And if AI can't clean the mess it made, I'd better use it moderately. ๐ญ

๐จ๏ธ "If it works, don't touch it" memes started playing in my head. ๐จ๏ธ "Maybe Gemini wasn't that great at coding, I should probably give Claude a chance... " ๐จ๏ธ I wasn't one-shotting, and my prompts were clear and to the point. ๐จ๏ธ I started questioning my abilities as a dev

Everything I'd been managing so well initially started to look like rotten spaghetti. The codebase was so cluttered and disorganized by now. I tried cleaning this mess by myself. Failed, cz reading through this codebase was a pain now. Asked the AI to refactor things for me,

Things did speed up. I liked the progress, and with little to no effort, I had some nice-looking features in my local dev environment. That said: *๏ธโฃ a lot of buggy stuff and strange behaviors came along *๏ธโฃ things got really messy, the agent wrote its own components instead of

I was getting a lot of FOMO from ppl spinning up their MVPs just under a few days. So I: *๏ธโฃ adopted the "fail fast" approach *๏ธโฃ installed antigravity *๏ธโฃ and started vibe coding app's core features (which aren't yet live) to speed things up

Started working on this app nearly a month ago, I created the initial utility (code snap generator, live now) mostly by myself. I used AI only for: *๏ธโฃ redundant frontend tasks *๏ธโฃ creating dummy data *๏ธโฃ asking for suggestions

Some patterns I observed when "vibe coding" the core features of @slyd_to: *๏ธโฃ how it looked like I was saving time *๏ธโฃ how things went from good to awfully bad *๏ธโฃ how I regained control over my code ๐งต

Agentic dev saves a lot of time, that's undeniable. But the brain rot it adds is also real.
