I am confused how both market makers as well as investors are profiting from being a part of this protocol. Some clarity will be appreciated.

Since Cega is guaranteeing a fixed rate on these options (with excellent downside protection), I am failing to see how the market makers would profit from it. Options tend to be a zero-sum-esque game, so if the investor is always winning, then the market makers should be losing.

Up to my understanding, Cega offers an options strategy that an investor can enter a position with. Then market makers can bid on and buy these options. This is used to pay the investor a fixed rate on their investment.
