I gotta say, Cursor is next level. Finally tried it. The agent is great for rapid prototyping of UI’s (since I suck at frontend). Still just doing mostly isolated sections in steps, too much at once and it will just spit out garbage you spend more time debugging than you gain.

I’m pretty surprised by what Claude 3.7 Sonnet spits out in terms of code. Much better quality than GPT.

I’ve yet to try cursor or windsor. Can anyone convince me to move from VSCode + CoPilot?.

Do y’all senior devs still learn any new languages?. I haven’t in quite some years. I just don’t see the point. I’m never going to be as good at it as my main language, so it seems like a waste of time.

You don’t fully understand pressure until one of your main systems is down and you’re on a live call with your VP/Director of Engineering trying to fix it 😳.

Becoming a software engineer takes hard work. It’s not for everybody. Creating code snippets from prompts gets you only so far. Distributed systems, scalability, security, performance etc. AI isn’t gonna help you buddy.

Did you know that you can run @FastAPI as a lambda function?. You can use Mangum, an adapter for running ASGi applications in AWS lambda. Check out this post where I explain it in detail:.

Communication 101. When you are talking to people, summarize their sentences:. ✅ Alright, so you are looking for . correct?. ✅ Just to verify, . is what you meant right?. ✅ Thank you, if I got that right you are referring to . ?. This avoids miscommunications.
