Well, that's a nice treat to see 4 big volcanoes out my airplane window - Rainier in the foreground, Adams to the left, Hood in the left middle background, and way to the right, St. Helens!

Standing on the edge of a giant sand sea in the Sahara is a feeling like no other! This is in Algeria (now great for tourism!) at the Grand Erg Occidental, on a giant star dune. Should I continue west across the 500 miles of dunes? Bliss!

Pretty extraordinary landscape at Diamond Beach, Jokulsarlon, Iceland! Glaciers calve into the bay, wash out to sea, then get pushed onto the beach by the surf. #jokulsarlon #iceland

I can't imagine anything I'd do in the house to be as fulfilling as a run. Even if it's hard to get out there.

Just. so big! I loved being in northern Alaska doing field work on the snow-covered Kobuk dunes - acting as stand ins for cold Mars dunes. Alaska is so vast and beautiful.

And just like that, we're out of the field! Love this little 2 seater Supercub, it gave student Emma (taking off here) and I a great ride skimming over the forest and dunes! @BYUgeology @BYU

Happy! Snowy dune slip faces shining in the sunlight across this big tundra, with the Jade mountains in the distance. Vast, big, lovely Alaska.

My present position - camping in northern Alaska in the lee of a giant, snow-covered dune! .#dji #mavic2pro

Out working in Arctic Alaska at Kobuk dunes, above the Arctic circle, as a stand in for cold Mars! We're doing subsurface surveys, taking samples to see if life is there, and flying drones for overhead images. So pretty and so cold.

Senator @SenMikeLee I called and told your office that as your constituent, I vehemently reject your unthinkable position against President Zelensky. I would bet a vast majority of your other constituents feel the same. Please do your job of representing us.

Well, the probability of asteroid 2024 YR4 hitting Earth went up to almost 3%, then waaay back down with more observations - it's not likely to happen. Great graphic from @esa showing change in probability to the present. Info from Phil Plait
