Well: Gates said Manafort asked him to check in regularly with Stone about WikiLeaks disclosures and indicated that "he would be updating other people on the campaign, including the candidate."
Judge begins by defending case against Stone. "He has not been prosecuted by his adversaries or ... pursued by his political enemies," she said; it was Stone who "characteristically injected himself smack into the center of one of the most significant issues of the day."

To be clear, Judge Ellis likes to be tough -- maybe even mean -- especially to DOJ lawyers with fancy pedigrees. Doesn't mean he's going to rule against them.
