Darlington were the ultimate 'lucky losers' 26 years ago today, playing away to Aston Villa in the FA Cup despite losing in the previous round at Gillingham. We lost 2-1, with Benito Carbone and @DionDublinsDube scoring for Villa, Paul Heckingbottom scoring for The Quakers.

Five years ago today Darlington lost 5-0 at Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup. We played well for the first half an hour, but a cock-up allowed Rovers to open the scoring - Quakers collapsed and it was 4-0 by half-time. 📷 Ryan Jones
