Joined September 2021
The rise in drug offences is a clear sign that our communities are stepping forward and saying, ‘enough is enough’. Through Operation Scorpion, we have empowered residents to report suspicious activity and helped ensure that Wiltshire is no place for drugs.
Wiltshire Police has seen a significant 14% increase in the reporting of drug offences over the past year according to new figures published yesterday (July 24th) by the Office of National Statistics. The latest figures, covering the year ending March 2025, show 1,194 drug

Operation Scorpion continues to show the strength of regional collaboration in tackling the harm caused by drug crime – this time focusing on professional enablers and businesses that may knowingly or unknowingly turn a blind eye to county lines activity and child exploitation.
A total of 25 people were arrested and more than £33,000 in cash was seized in Wiltshire as part of a regional week of action targeting drug supply networks across the area. The latest week of intensification as part of the Operation Scorpion initiative, which took place last

Our approach is built upon engagement and feedback from communities who have been telling me since my election in 2021, they want greater police officer visibility and for Wiltshire Police to tackle the crimes that matter to their communities.
Communities across Wiltshire and Swindon will benefit from a focused initiative aimed at enhancing safety and reducing crime in town centres across the county during the busier summer months. Safer Streets Summer, which runs from this week until the end of September, focuses on

Having these trusted adults going to where young people are, instead of expecting them to come to us allows us to reach those who may not choose to seek out support in youth clubs or structured activities.
Young people feel less likely to 'get into trouble' with the police after spending time with youth workers, a new report shows. Findings from an annual service evaluation carried out by youth mentoring charity SMASH shows that the presence of detached youth workers – trained

It was a pleasure to join @wiltshirepolice yesterday in Ludgershall to see how the community are benefiting from the Mobile Police Stations designed to bridge the gap between the police and our rural communities with increased visibility and accessibility.
Yesterday morning PCC Philip Wilkinson joined the Amesbury Neighbourhood Policing team out in Ludgershall with one of the new Mobile Police Stations. Funded by the OPCC, these vehicles ensure policing services are readily accessible to all residents. @AmesburyCPT

It was great to be able to have such open and honest conversations with the young people and hear about their plans to gather the views of their peers. Taking the views of the Youth Commission and the young people they represent on board will serve us well in the future.
Yesterday saw the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Commission take part in a workshop with PCC Philip Wilkinson. Here 12-year-old Jake speaks about the benefits of the session. Read more here 👉 @ParticipationPP #MakingWiltshireSafer

It is clear to me that education plays a vital role in tackling this issue at the source. Wiltshire may statistically have some of the lowest levels of knife crime in the country, and while our officers are doing great work to get knives off the streets, more needs to be done.
Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson has said education is the key to tackling knife crime as week of intensified operational activity commences. This week marks Sceptre – a national initiative which actively aims to tackle knife crime and related serious violence
