To those saying “this is about money”, I fully believe that if the salary cap didnt exist, Coop would retire as a Ram. His play was falling off, and he has injury issues, and you just can’t devote that much of the cap to that. I’m gonna miss Coop. But this was the right call 💙💛.

WOW, so per @richeisen the Giants hit the money for Stafford AND the trade comp the Rams wanted. The deal was all but set and Stafford backed out and decided to stay with LA for less money. Joe even hired his brother-in-law. Schoen must've fell to his knees when he heard.

Positives from the game yesterday:. -McVay’s coaching is still ELITE.-Stafford can still be that clutch guy, and probably would have been if Carter doesn’t sack him.-The Rams pass rush got 7 sacks against the best o-line in football with a mobile QB. This is at least a Top 5 unit.

One lesson I hope the Lions learn from all this; going full force all gas no breaks all the time is what leads to all your players being injured for the playoffs. It’s a cocky approach, which fit how this team played and acted this year. Be confident, not cocky.

The second and most important reason imo. The front 7 is INCREDIBLY young and got better as the season went on. 3 of the 7 are rookies (Verse, Fiske, Speights), and that number goes up to 5 if you add sophomores (Turner, Young).

Why do I think this happened?. Well, first, Omar Speights replaced Troy Reeder. The numbers notably start trending down when Speights becomes a starter. But that was also a few games before the Eagles game.

And if we wanna have MORE fun and say, make the argument that the unit rounded into form after the Saints game, and remove that one…. 92/game. The only unit better than that on the season is Baltimore.

IF WE GO FURTHER:. Let’s say we remove the Seahawks game because the starters didn’t play the whole game. Then it goes down to 100.5. Which would now be even better than the Chiefs.

If you average all of that out, including the Seahawks game, that’s around 104 rushing ypg. That would be a Top 10 unit, even better than Philly. Significantly better than before.
