Giving consumers the personalized experiences they want without them worrying about how you are using their personal data shouldn't be hard

Lots of really helpful advice here, just as applicable to those later on in their careers or those just starting out
Another year of rapid AI advances has created more opportunities than ever for anyone — including those just entering the field — to build software. In fact, many companies just can’t find enough skilled AI talent. Every winter holiday, I spend some time learning and building,

Agree that this shouldn't be news in 2025 Good article asking the question "Will AI enabled tech help brands value media environments better?"

What are the odds in another decade we'll all have robust home server setups, where personal data can be captured continually for a local AI agent to process, but without risk of personal data exposure? I was going to diagram but Slides did this in a single prompt. Pretty good.

The funny thing about this representation is at first I thought "Oh, wow, what an interesting idea - have a call with a therapist while you're en route somewhere. Makes a lot of sense...you need to be alone and it's efficient!"

There's definitely going to be a market for dedicated hardware in your home with strict rules about what goes out and in. That way you can benefit from having something know everything about you without worries over data leakage, breaches, etc.

The one thing that is missing here (ironically since they call it a computer) is it still sits in a cloud People will feel much more comfortable with software running only locally when it comes to their most personal data.
today we're announcing @zocomputer. when we came up with the idea – giving everyone a personal server, powered by AI – it sounded crazy. but now, even my mom has a server of her own. and it's making her life better. she thinks of Zo as her personal assistant. she texts it to

"The typewriter’s contribution to office productivity was huge. Pen-and-ink clerks who struggled to top 20 words a minute were displaced by typists who could top 60 wpm" Fun read on history of big moments in office productivity, including what they meant for society broadly

It is an interesting question and seems an exception to the "everything is an ad network" rule Would people like cheaper books if they had ads in them? Is this a missed opportunity? Or some kind of sacrilege? @eric_seufert curious if you've given much thought to this

I recently received an email titled “An 18-year-old’s dilemma: Too late to contribute to AI?” Its author, who gave me permission to share this, is preparing for college. He is worried that by the time he graduates, AI will be so good there’s no meaningful work left for him to do

"Consumers don’t care whether an ad was made with AI or not" "There were bad ads before AI and there’ll be bad ads after AI, and the only people who can stop it are the people behind the ads.” 💯 Proving his point, I liked this ad and was surprised to learn it was made with AI

“A friend told me that in HS a bunch of kids thought I was weird. I had no idea I was weird then—maybe they still think I’m weird. I think there’s a good message in there—be yourself, don’t hold back, never stop learning, work as hard as you can, and you can be whatever you want”

AI video is getting really good (and easier to create and then edit, though this one was on the first try)
