#LightoftheWorld is now in theatres, and the producers have released one more clip, in which John (the disciple-to-be) meets John (the baptizer). Side note: would John the Baptizer have said that baptism is "just a symbol"? Link in the next tweet.

I ended up punting some of my thoughts to the footnotes, but even *there* I had to strip back some of the various tangents I could have gone on.

Incidentally, there is one paragraph (possibly more than one, but one especially) that took me a *long* time to write, because I was trying to express a complex idea in a relatively brief space *and* I was trying to describe how this film follows other films in kinda ignoring it.

Now entering into the second half of #TheCovenant, The Lumo Project's condensed but otherwise word-for-word adaptation of The Torah (with a framing device taken from Ezra and a few other books). In this installment: God calls Moses and sends the plagues. Link in the next tweet.

When @Glinner landed at Heathrow, he was met by five armed police officers, and immediately arrested. His ‘crime’? Three gender-critical tweets. As Graham says in his Substack:. “In a country where paedophiles escape sentencing, where knife crime is out of control, where women

Two random data points: This was one of the weakest Labour Day weekends of the modern era (only 2020 and 2022 were worse this century, even before you adjust for inflation). And Darren Aronofsky had one of his better first weekends in wide(-ish) release.

#BoxOffice: #Weapons was the first movie to be #1 in its 4th weekend since January 2024 (although two other films did bounce back to #1 in their *5th* weekends in the interim), and the top "new" movie this week was the 50th-anniversary re-release of #Jaws. Link in the next tweet.

Not only that, but at least one scholar has proposed that the Dayenu was composed *as a response to a Christian Good Friday hymn that accuses Jews of being ungrateful for the Exodus*. So that just makes the Christianizing of the Dayenu even more. hmmm.

#TheChosen is now selling T-shirts and hoodies with a line from the Dayenu: Christian merch appropriating Jewish Passover songs. And The Chosen's website calls the Dayenu "ancient". It isn't. It was composed in the Middle Ages.

Behold, a revised (and ad-free!) version of the scene-by-scene guide to Paul, Apostle of Christ that I wrote in 2018. I thought it would be a simple copy-and-paste from the blog, but I ended up making *lots* of (mostly) little changes. Link in the next tweet.
