Calling all writers, #WEOC created The Case For the 1619 Project in defense of the #1619 Project. If you would like to write a non-fiction essay to add to our curated collection, check out the info, or pass it to someone who may be interested. Thank you https://t.co/hneNcrJYmt

Have you ever noticed how Christians who don’t want to support social justice dismiss parts of the Old Testament prophets and those who don’t want to uphold Christian sexual ethics dismiss Apostle Paul? Perhaps the Bible challenges all of our ideological agendas. (&)

I wish secular people could see their most fundamental moral ideals come from the Bible (T.Holland), and without the biblical view of the universe, won't be sustained. I wish Christians could see the church has failed in profound ways to practice those ideals (C.Taylor).

It’s quite possible to say “thank you” 50x a day but not have a life marked by gratitude. Gratitude is about discerning the gifts that are present before us. It also entails the steadfast refusal to order one’s life around: • comparing • complaining • coveting #Thanksgiving

When Jesus was asked "what does it mean to love my neighbor?" He gave an example of a man risking his life to give costly, material care and help to someone of a different race and of different religious beliefs. He concluded "Go and do likewise" (Luke 10:25-37)

Some of you threaten to leave Twitter every few months and it reminds of me that friend who always says they are leaving their bf/gf but never do

In 2023, my goal is to do more building than talking. I feel I've failed at this. I'll still do podcasts, but I want to spend most of my time on AI & engineering efforts, with an existing team or a new one, building systems that try to increase the amount of love in the world.

It’s so easy to be discipled by an angry culture that we deceive ourselves in thinking it’s a fruit of the Spirit.

Secularism is not merely an absence of belief. (That's a 'subtraction story' secular people tell themselves. See C.Taylor.) It is a new, alternate set of faith-beliefs about reality that can't be empirically proven.

Prayer is never a desperate anxious gamble. God's attention is not based on our performance but parental love.

One of the signs that you may not grasp the unique, radical nature of the gospel is that you are certain that you do.
