On July 1, 2023, the federal government switched insurance providers. The transition was supposed to be seamless. For hundreds, if not thousands, of federal public servants, retirees and their families, it was anything but. https://t.co/90K4AvZNU9.

To make things worse we’re also hearing that Canada Life’s reasonable expense caps are lower than Sun Life. Members are getting less $ back even when the coverage has gone up. The govt needs to get to the bottom of this and fix it! #hurtbycanadalife #PSAC #canlab

Since the transfer, members have faced frustrating delays with having their claims processed, and are repeatedly unable to log into their account. Plan members cannot get clear answers about their questions, & see their eligible claims get denied. #hurtbycanadalife #PSAC #canlab

On July 1, the @liberal_party government transferred the PSHCP provider contract fr Sun Life to #CanadaLife, resulting in changes for > 1.7 million fed public serv workers, retirees & their dependents. Since then, members have faced serious challenges. #hurtbycanadalife #canlab

Although PSAC welcomes the government's initiatives to tackle affordability and the housing crisis, deeper public service cuts are concerning for Canadians who depend on critical federal programs and the workers who deliver them.

The 2023 budget outlined $15 billion in cuts to programs and services over the next four years, and this week’s update adds another $3 billion in spending reductions.

The @liberal_party govt needs to get to the bottom of how it has-once again-failed in rolling out a critical program for its employees. Pay & benefits are essential services. @psac_afpc members deserve better from this govt, Canada’s largest employer. #hurtbycanadalife

These mounting issues with #canadalife add insult to injury for public sector workers, retirees, and their families who have been affected by Phoenix failures for nearly eight years. #hurtbycanadalife #PSAC #canlab

What are TB President @AnitaAnandMP and PSCP Minister @jyduclos doing to improve Canada Life service delivery for PSHCP members? #hurtbycanadalife #PSAC #canlab

The transition has resulted in plan members being bounced between #canadalife & provincial coverage, often waking up early to be the first on the line w/ a customer service agent. In the meantime, they can’t get any refunds. They go w/o their meds or pay large sums out of pocket.

When the @liberal_party govt announced the PSHCP transition to Canada Life, @psac_afpc provided recommendations for a smooth transition, including a full-time call centre that members could call for help. Unfortunately, they didn’t take our advice. #HurtByCanadaLife #PSAC #canlab

Treasury Board President @AnitaAnandMP and Minister for PSPC @jyduclos need to get to the bottom of how this government has - once again - botched the rollout of a critical program for its employees. #hurtbycanadalife #canlab #PSAC

The transition to Canada Life has turned into another fiasco. The Liberal government has clearly not learned its lesson from the #phoenixpaysystem disaster and continues to mismanage the implementation of essential services for its employees. #hurtbycanadalife #canlab #PSAC

On July 1, the Liberal government unilaterally switched public services workers to a new benefits provider. @psac_afpc members are sharing the negative and unacceptable impacts that the transition to #CanadaLife has had on them and their families. #hurtbycanadalife #canlab #PSAC

Trans and non-binary people deserve our respect and support, today and every day. Also, we have to fight against anti-trans legislation and anti-trans hate. Learn how to get involved:

Today we honour the memory of all those who have been lost to transphobic hate & violence. As we mark Nov 20 this year, it’s especially important that we also stand up against the rise in transphobia, anti-SOGI rhetoric & hate directed at trans and gender diverse folks. 🏳️‍⚧️

Today’s announcement from the BC government represents some progress for ride-hail and food-delivery workers. But it still leaves them without the same protections provided to BC other workers. Here's our reaction: https://t.co/voGnNTElG8 #BCLab 🧵
