I really wish Apple would give special access to apps that have time sensitive health information. For me, if my dang Home Screen widget and Apple Watch complication could update up to 288 times a day to show my 5 min Dexcom value that would be so nice.

This is the kind of targeted treatment I think we'd need to see to have hope for a t1 cure. Antigen-specific suppression. Very interesting.
This is huge! ❤️ Synthetically glycosylated antigens for the antigen-specific suppression of established immune responses: can completely reverse autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes via immune memory erasure https://t.co/iyRY49Ape0

@Brock_Heinz @Tidepool_org @ps2 @KateFarnsworth It’s built on top of the open-source version and many of the improvements have been back-ported, as was promised from Tidepool from day one. It’s a fantastic example of a public/private relationship in driving innovation.

They showed a very credible and powerful architecture that they've developed for teaching computers to understand a 3d world in motion, and distilling that knowledge into something that can be executed on the fly. Really impressed.

Tesla AI Day was a surreal blend of mind blowing real tech, and vague, hand-wavy future promises. I did come away significantly more confident in them being very close to solving FSD, however.

While we're talking about Iowa this afternoon, let's examine corn sweat... interesting to see the divergence in top-tier dew points between a corny and less corny area during the mid to late summer. Corn adds a lot of moisture to the air and helps juice up those top-tier days.

Learning is like opening a door to a new room. You somehow learn something, and at the same time, are made aware of how little you know about this new space. Each bit of knowledge comes with the price of several more questions... In the end, I will know relatively nothing at all!

This was a surprise to me when I started looking into astrophotography.

Good design can be surprisingly bland. https://t.co/nCJeNYHJnf is a masterpiece of UX. I'm always amazed when I use it. Making a universe of hardware parts findable, detailed specs on everything, and ordering is like "that's all I had to do???". And then it gets here tomorrow.

The Loop community has known for a long time that Loop makes living with a de-facto risky disease (T1D) much safer. It's great to see this measured in a way that hopefully lends credence the effectiveness of patient driven solutions.

Clinical studies show how software and devices behave in carefully controlled environments. The real world is a much tougher proving grounds. The Jaeb Center measured how well Loop was working in the wild. https://t.co/W1Ppk4ap5r (hint: Sci-Hub is your friend).

This week a Siberian town clocked a temperature of 100F, 32F above normal, the hottest temp ever recorded north of the Arctic Circle. This is both news and a blaring alarm warning us that our children are in danger. Yet the prime-time network news didn't report it. 1/n
