Amazing to find out there are folks so nostalgia blinded to take the position, "I liked the lead poisoning, especially when it came with a menial, low-wage job." The lead poisoning was better, I suppose, when you also got to order around a low-wage worker.

Will these tariffs hurt our local steel fabrication? My neighbors run these factories and employ hundreds of people in these communities. If we can't source raw materials how will the factories stay open? 5/

All my neighbors talked about was the safety of the food supply would the changes to the NSF and NIH make it less safe? Would we get bird flu? If we did could be ever treat it? 3/

I’ve written about Latin & Greek as secret languages in the modern world, so it’s rather lovely to receive an email from a retired colleague who says something disparaging about a famous classicist (who must remain nameless) using the Greek alphabet for the negative comment!
