And before you @ me about the cost of disgruntled workers or poor workers, this post is focused on the average worker or high performer and focusing on the costs of the "great resignation"

In a seminar this morning on learning-- I have always heard that employees leaving is a costly prospect. I have never heard concrete measurements on how to calculate the cost of that loss: on average 33% of the salary of the person who is leaving.1/2

Feeling a little lost today while everyone is going off to find new spots. Checked my account at https://t.co/ABFuXehJr2. It works but timeline has been empty. Tried to set up Scholar account and it's full. Hoping that there is space once people coalesce somewhere

ungrading as a progression of those approaches, erases seminal and important non-white, non-mainstream thinkers who have inspired others to challenge the system. It is a reductionist and ironic argument.

The one thing I want to point out about current issues with the article on ungrading is that the philosophy and approaches undergirding ungrading is not new. It has roots in Freire, hooks and other educators who saw education from more emancipatory perspectives. 1/2

#OpenEd22 is over @HeyOpenEd . What an amazing week. I will say it again. Every year, I find myself thinking OpenED22 is a conference full of friends I haven't met yet. Thank you all for being there and bringing your whole selves to the table.

Here is a shout out to the amazing people behind the scenes making this conference happen. They make it look easy. The behind the scenes work is substantial and handling the glitches and bumps of a virtual conference is no joke. Thank you @txtbks @haileybabb, Briana and Aishah
As we head into the final day of #OpenEd22, we'd like to take this moment to acknowledge @Hewlett_Found and @Michelson20MM for their continued support of this event and the community around it.
