Basketball Recruits:
After every call: please just hand the ball back to the Ref. Stop just dropping it and walking away. Disrespect is not okay no matter ur thoughts of the call. It makes you look weak mentally not tough and able to handle the daily rigors of college bball

Thank you to every Recruit that reaches out. Believe me when I say it is very humbling. If we get blessed to see any part of your games know that we worked very hard with scheduling and running from one game to another. It and you matter to us and we value you and your game.
Recruiting:
Players and PARENTS
When we show at your games for any amount of time remember we chose your game over all others at that moment.
In College Recruiting time is very limited and we spent our's on you at that moment.
Positive Take: we can be critics that is easy but in this July evaluation I have 👀positives:
- Parents hug & encourage after games
- Teammates laugh & hug
- Opponents reach a hand out
- Players cry in their coaches arms
- Parents cheerlead and care for other kids
+ outweigh -
What we looking for: 👀
Backside rebounds
Blocking out
Hard nose defense
Help Side Instincts
Easy shot making
Steady Decions
Great attitude
Loving Teammates
Simple...effort and hard work
Takes those every possession and you provide those things. You 100% have our attention
Things that grab my attention:
- u know where light switch is
- u chase down every ball
- u r an eager rebounder
- u r a determined defender
- u smile and laugh sometime
- u hand ur teammates a water
- ur parents show u support
- u take coaching/criticism
u having a great time
No one will ever realize how emotional it is for me when I get to talk to future Panthers on the phone, text or email. I absolutely love getting to know the prospective student/athletes that we get to meet and recruit.
Many blessings of my life and my job.
As a Coach of young women, I hope to set an example in lots of ways. 1 way: I hope my players realize is the simple polite things go a long way. Say hello to everyone u come across in ur day. A simple polite acknowledging of anyone can change their day & maybe their life.
Biggest Recruiting tip is how to avoid a huge RED FLAG with any College Coach. Know your GPA and test scores. High achieving and academic minded student/athletes know these numbers instantly when asked. More important numbers to know then your PPG or RPG.
I have to admit I go about things differently when it comes to a lot of my coaching and recruiting actions. @ Principia
Care for person > all else
Fit on team > kind of player
Academics > fit on team
Kind of overall person > all
We don't cast a wide net but a very calculated 1
Current, Incoming Players, Recruits and parents always say "Coach - we do not know how to thank you" Actually it is pretty simple -
lead a happy life, grow your OWN way with God, and be successful in the classroom
that is the way that you can thank me. These are my blessings

The amazing women on this team. Wow. The turn around of this program that these 8 women have propelled by their hard work, determination and skill stuns me every moment. I am very blessed to have each of them on this team. Congratulations young ladies.
#principiacollegewbb
We play defense till the final whistle no matter the score. The player scoring here is a major part of our team. Not her first time scoring. This is what makes our team special not the wins or losses but our love for each other.
Here is our very own Taylor Brown. Describing Family and the expectations that she holds for herself and her team. Family and support shines through in a lot of what we do. Things that players make important are things that teams as a whole make important.

I see tons of flaws within our game on so many levels but what I do not understand is why we find it a must to only point them out and never showcase the blessings of this game. This simple kids game has blessed me in numerous ways but mostly with the people I get to work with.
With busy class schedules, we finally got the chance to celebrate our unbelievable 2021-22 team. Thank you to each of these young ladies for their dedication and their work. I have been blessed to watch them grow over the entire year and I couldn't be more proud of each of them
A lot of people in this profession are more successful than I am. A lot of teams are more successful than mine is. But the love my team shows for each other is unequaled by anyone. Very blessed.
Unguarded person coming down the court and everyone points at them. Great communication BUT...
Someone need to actually take accountability and pick them up. Makes everyone on the floor looks foolish and selfish. Pick up...play defense
Huge win over a great team in Westminister College. The Panther Women really stepped it up in the 3rd. Taylor Brown w/ 23 pts, Brin Hultz w/ her 1st collegiate double double of 20 pts, 10 rebs and Ariana Williams with 14 points.
Just heard a Coach explain his theory of calling fouls to the Ref. "Man - this is not a contact sport"
Have no idea where this guy been watching WBB at for the last ummm...4ever. But that is my cue to move courts. Here to evaluate not listen to nonsense and see the gm delayed
5th best team rebounding performance in program history. 63 rebounds includes 22 offensive boards. The women on this team work every possession and this Stat proves it. Congrats.
Recruits:
Good luck and be yourselves today. There to see you succeed or fail but mostly interested in seeing what you do NEXT.
Will do my best to see everyone at some point.
#pantherhunt
Congrats to Paige Fowler as her 21 rebound game in a 76-38 win over Blackburn earned her 5th place in program history for most rebounds in a game by a single player.
Want to grab attention at any live event simple:
Play hard at both ends, play defense like your life depends on it, be in helping side, hit easy shots, hit easy shots, hit easy shots, be coachable, be a good teammate
We create our environment.

Procrastination
What you portray, allow, and emphasize even in the smallest ways is the environment you are enabling to surround you.
Congrats to Taylor Brown on her 3rd collegiate double double yesterday in our regular season finale win over Blackburn College. 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Big time game from a big time player.

Basketball is a TEAM sport. If you are posting, boosting, or recounting about how you as an individual was the sole reason for a TEAM win or turnaround then you need to have video proof that you did it on the court by yourself. Otherwise know that in this sport it takes 5.
Congrats to Taylor Brown on her selection on SLIAC Player of the Week. What a tremendous week she and her teammates had. Love this team.
#principiacollegewbb

Game Day: finally a home conference game as Principia host Westminister College tonight at 5:30pm in Hay Fieldhouse. Be sure when attending to use the QR code at the gym entrances to show your support of Female Sports at the NCAA level.
Paige Fowler did work on the glass yesterday. Scoring her second collegiate double double with an astounding 21 rebounds and 11 points.

I see a lot of commentary on what high school players need to be doing. Summer basketball, circuit team, training only, blah blah blah...
My advice - find your own path to getting better and making yourself happy. Then, take that path 100%.
This is us.
Mode: me vs. me
Working hard to be better than I was yesterday so my team is better than it was yesterday. For myself - yes, but mostly for the other women on this team.
#principiawbb
Defensive players need to understand that allowing skip passes are a death sentence to your defensive rotations. Ball below waist give space, ball above the waist take space with hands up. Active feet, active hands led to active and aggressive defense
#pantherhunt
I could not be more happy for this team. Eight players on the roster. Everytime on the floor they give it their all. Secured one of the six spots in the SLIAC conference tournament. First time since 2006. Congratulations to each one of them.
#pantherhunt
What a way to end the regular season. 12-11 overall. And 7-7 in the tough SLIAC conference. I am so proud of each one of these women. Congrats Ladies.

Big hint for recruits - learn to defend without fouling in these games this summer. Called or not called - we know the difference between can guard and can just foul
