An old friend posted a WhatsApp story. A video of a man singing a Telugu song. I was baffled. My friend was born and raised in Mumbai. He doesn't even speak the language. I texted him. He told me he had moved to Singapore for work. Therefore he hadn’t recharged the number in the

Sebaashray was conceived with the vision of upholding the fundamental right to accessible and quality healthcare for all. Guided by the spirit of compassion and the duty of service to humanity, I had launched Sebaashray last year to extend free medical care not only to the people

Younger ones in my family are putting up Zohran Mamdani's victory posts on their stories. It surprises me, honestly. And I get it. The kind of campaign he ran was different. Using Bollywood songs, referring to Nehru in his victory speech, a socialist winning in a capitalist

The Govt’s press release uses beautiful language: "transparency," "proportionality," "accountability," "balance of rights and responsibilities." But the truth is, it just became far simpler to get content deleted and make social media platforms comply to their whims and fancies.

There was ZERO public consultation before notifying these rules. No draft was published 30 days prior either (like it was done earlier). The timing is suspect too. Notified quietly during Diwali week when attention is elsewhere. No press conference. Just a gazette notification

The 36-hour compliance window is brutal. Platforms can't realistically challenge orders in that time frame. So they’ll over-comply. Remove first, ask questions later. Think about the chilling effect it will have on journalists, activists, or just someone with opinions.

"But there are monthly reviews." Here's why that's meaningless. The review is gonna be done by no elected body. It will be another secretary from the SAME GOVT that issued the order. No public reporting of these orders are gonna be available either.

The process is dangerously simple: 1. Govt official (JS+) writes a "reasoned intimation" 2. Sends it to X/Facebook/Instagram/YouTube 3. Platform has 36 HOURS to comply 4. Your post vanishes No court. No hearing. No notice to you. No appeal. Just... gone.

“But, there has to be some control?” I thought the same. Sure, the notice must specify legal basis, nature of unlawful act etc. But first, let's talk about what "unlawful content" means. Under the IT Act, it's incredibly broad: anything that threatens "sovereignty & integrity of

Here's the trick most people will miss: Joint Secretary/Director level exists in EVERY major ministry—IT, Home Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, Defence, Finance, you name it. Literally 100s of them exist. Anyone can call the shots.

The govt says they've added "safeguards." But the truth is, the process just became much simpler.  Before: vague "appropriate govt/agency" could order takedowns. Now: Joint Secretary, Directors, or DIG+ rank officers can issue orders. Sounds official? That's the point.

While we were first busy celebrating Diwali and then worrying about the AQI, they quietly amended the IT Rules - right under our nose. Now, it's much simpler to get social media posts 'deleted'. Here’s how: 🧵

Bengal, our beloved motherland, is being hounded, humiliated, maligned, and vilified by Bohiragoto Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars who thrive on lies and propaganda, increasingly in the digital space where the battle now rages. It is upon us to stand up for Bengal’s rights, dignity,

The new EPFO rules scream, “Please allow us to make YOUR financial decisions.” The government already started taxing PF contributions above ₹2.5 lakh in 2021. Now they've extended the waiting period too. If you lose your job today, you can't withdraw your full PF for 12

Last month, after I landed, I booked a cab. It was pretty late. 1 AM or something. My irrational fear of the driver being sleepy kicked in. So I thought I would initiate a conversation to keep him awake. "Dada, humesha itni raat tak cab chalate ho?" I asked. "Karna parta hai.

Fact 1: Here, it will be ₹9,000 per stray dog by Delhi government. Fact 2: Under PM Kisan, the government gives ₹6,000/year per farmer. Priorities, I guess, right?

If you ever feel useless, remember that Madhya Pradesh Government once spent 10 CRORES to create MBBS course material in Hindi. It's been 3 years since then, and so far not a single student has taken the exam in Hindi.

What's happening in Nepal is heartbreaking. 19 dead. 400 injured. This isn't about a social media ban. This is years of frustration exploding. While politicians' kids get fast-tracked into power, 2,000 Nepalis leave the country every day for survival jobs in the Gulf.

We were hiring for a role, and someone showed me a CV. He said, "Good candidate, but this person is from IGNOU." I paused. "So?" "You know... distance education and all." Sure, IGNOU has its fair share of issues and whatnot, but it really breaks my heart when people think
