Dogs are typically not taken in the van -- only in exceptional cases like when they notice a dog (esp. female) not neutered/spayed. Dogs picked up for neutering will be dropped back to the same area. .

The catchers start early in the morning. They catch the dog in a net; vaccinate it and release it back at the spot immediately. They also apply *green or blue paint on the forehead*, so that it lasts a few days and prevents them from re-vaccinating the same dog. .
