@Becoming_Saint SPOILER: How to get more food production?. Distributing land to people and peasants will definitely increase your food production. Also, letting merchants do their redistribution work.

@Becoming_Saint How to win the game?. In order to “win” the game you need to control at least 13 cardinals and the town of Rome, in no particular order. Here by winning it is intended minimising the time between your death and becoming a saint, also while still alive? 😝.

@Becoming_Saint Where is the politics’ bless, curse, and trance effect evaluation?. When you are selecting units for a march there is a hint’s section, that if you close it it remains closed. Click on the bottom left to reopen it; information on bless, curse, & trance is always visible.

@Becoming_Saint How to preview the consequences of choices?. What a choice does is revealed completely once you replay a game. For every choice that you have taken previously, a large tooltip appears on the choices showing its effect; it is meant as a progressive discovery of content.

@Becoming_Saint What does “critical” mean for a unit? . “Critical” refers to "making a critical attack", if unit A is critical vs unit B, once per battle, A will attempt a "critical attack" against B (if they are fighting), which, if successful, will completely disband unit B.

@Becoming_Saint About elevation and ranged units (2/2). They try to attack someone all the time; the only moment they don't attack or move is when there is no one in range and no path to reach an enemy. Notice that if you select a ranged unit, its range will be shown on the grid.

@Becoming_Saint About elevation and ranged units (1/2). Having units on elevation always gives an advantage, both in attack and in defence. Ranged units attack in two ways: if the enemy is far, they throw at it; if the enemy is in contact, they attack as all other units do.

@Becoming_Saint How not to die when losing confrontations?. You can lose a confrontation and not lose the game if: Your charisma is above zero, and You did not bring all your units with you to the confrontation. If you notice during a “battle” that you are losing it, you can always run away:

@Becoming_Saint How does levelling up work?. Units that are followers of yours and have "survived" the last battle will level up every 3 towns conquered. So level up will happen when controlling 3 towns, 6, 9, 12 etc. Units level up after you get to make your speech in the Piazza:

@Becoming_Saint Why are battles called confrontations? . In Becoming Saint, in order to convert a town, you have a brawl with locals: it is not a “battle” in the sense that it is a setting where both sides are trying to convince & convert others (hit energy faith courage): no one gets killed.

@Becoming_Saint About your own name and it being forced to be unique. Our idea is that each name results in a saint, saved in your list. And each saint should have a unique name, so if you want to reuse it, it should be "Peter", then "Peter II", "Peter III".

@Becoming_Saint How does save work? . The game saves state after each finished confrontation, when it shows you the resulting map. For example, if you conquered 3 towns, and quit the game, you will have a "continue" button from the start scene.
