We have lost a great leader. Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman was the most consequential House speaker in MN history. Long before she played a key role in codifying reproductive freedom in MN in 2023, she was a champion for Planned Parenthood & a formidable leader at the Capitol.

Planned Parenthood health centers save lives. We know what happens when they are “defunded.” Cancers go undetected, STIs go untreated, birth control is harder to get, and the health infrastructure of communities breaks down. Call Congress:

Rep. Stauber voted to gut Medicaid and block patients from accessing care at Planned Parenthood. His vote tells us exactly who he's fighting for—and it's not us. Call him to say you'll be watching his vote on the budget bill when it returns to his desk:

Planned Parenthood health centers are the only source of health care for many patients. Many rely on Medicaid & other federal/state programs. "Defunding" Planned Parenthood is deeply unpopular. We can stop it, but we can't do it without you! 🎨 liberaljane

The U.S. House is advancing a reconciliation bill that defunds Planned Parenthood & drastically cuts access to Medicaid, a program more than 70 million Americans rely on for health care. We went to Rep. Finstad's office to tell him how harmful this would be, but he wasn't there.

URGENT: MN lawmakers are negotiating the health budget bill (HF 2435)—and funding for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Services grant program is on the line. We must demand legislators protect funding for this critical program that Minnesotans need:

"Defunding" Planned Parenthood would hit everybody's pockets because cruelty has a cost. Early estimates from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office show it would cost $300 million to block people from getting care at PP health centers. Fight back:

“Defunding” Planned Parenthood keeps patients from getting the care they need. Speaker Mike Johnson and his allies are trying to shut down PP health centers, pushing their political agenda instead of protecting access to essential health care. Fight back:

Yesterday was Teen Council Lobby Day! Young advocates met directly with their legislators to talk about the issues that matter most to them as constituents, including sexual and reproductive health and rights. We're proud of them for showing up and speaking out! 🫶. #MNLeg

"'It’s hard to describe the politics of cruelty we are seeing right now coming from Washington to take away such basic human rights.'.That criticism comes after Stauber voted in support of a budget bill that experts say could cut Medicaid by $880 million."

We delivered 151,000 beads to U.S. Rep. Pete Stauber's office this afternoon in Hermantown to represent the 151,000 Minnesotans who rely on Medicaid in CD 8. Wondering what you can do? Call your members of Congress and urge them to protect Medicaid today:

"Our health care system is already fragile and more concerned with profits than people. I’ve had patients in the ER worried about money over their own health and well-being. That’s why I’m baffled that elected representatives would vote to gut Medicaid. "

Planned Parenthood Generation Action students from Rochester, Mankato, and Winona recently visited U.S. Representative Brad Finstad's office to oppose any cuts to Medicaid funding. We're so proud that they're advocating for accessible health care for all! . #ImForPP
