Tbh the only fandom or community I’m part of that I don’t feel inadequate in is Johnny’s. Sure I’ve never seen NEWS in concert and my Japanese isn’t good but it doesn’t matter. As long as you love these boys you are accepted into the fandom with open arms.

since you mentioned chinese and japanese idols. tnt, a chinese boy group who had 0 members over 15/16 when they debuted, it's not like they have to go to the military. for japanese idols, sexyzone had an average age of 14 years old... it's just market preference lol...
