Wondering why it’s the VCs that are advocating atrocious work schedules (well, you aren’t going to do better work if you don’t have enough time to rest and reflect) instead of startup founders themselves.

AI safety and alignment teams should also consider exploring Confucian or East Asian values and beliefs too.

RT @snowmaker: If you're building an AI agent to automate some job, like a payroll specialist, the hardcore move is to just go get that job….

I found an insane trick to debug hard coding problems with the help of a LLM. I was using @augmentcode , but I think this can also apply well if you're using @cursor_ai or @claude_code . In this case, I was dealing with a bug (or an intended outcome) from the PDF processing

LLM assisted coding magnify whatever strengths and weaknesses the engineer controlling the LLM has.

Agentic AI coding is truly the "Tragedy of the Commons" moment for LLM-assisted software development. They open up coding to people who don't know what they are doing, with glaring security flaws and low value add, swallowing up insane amounts of tokens and compute, while.

As more time passes, I increasingly appreciate being single and not desperate while young. If I work a lot, I don’t have someone that I am straining a relationship with.

One of my favorite developments in East Asia over the last few decades is that women in general are much more respected especially compared to early-1900s when there are very few measures of safety for women.

If you want to get an “unfair” advantage, or, cheat, in fullstack engineering, you’re not going to be using Cluely. You’ll be reading on system design, clean, refactored / performant code, and using good probably open-source dev tools such as uv, pnpm, knip and cloc.

If Argentina continues to deliver in fiscal and economic recovery, it could very well become a high-trust, moderately-wealthy and extremely safe society like Poland, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Estonia or Slovakia.

Be very careful reading your rental contract while renting in SF. There’s unfortunately quite a few dishonest landlords out here. Specifically, read the start and end dates in the contract, and whether it’s month-to-month afterwards. Let ChatGPT analyze if you need to.

If you meet a good fullstack swe who is obsessed with making security waterproof unlike the Tea App we have seen this morning, chances are this person is on the spectrum.

Once you do software right, by writing disciplined, refactored codebases, it becomes second nature to do that quickly as well, and you’ll ship software so quickly and reliably that it will market itself.

The reason why Chinese firms are outrunning American firms despite having less resources is because American ones, both startups and established, are incredibly myopic in decision making.
