A major blow to one of NY's most trouble-plagued climate programs. Albany banned districts from buying new gas/diesel buses after next year without doing a cost estimate (let alone a plan) for electrification, counting on "free" federal cash to make it work.
NEW: The feds are pulling the plug on grants for electric school busses, as New York schools fret a crushing state mandate that they transition their entire fleets to electric by 2035. From @jchristenson_

"Rent control is not going to be the solution to how we get through this crisis. We need to build more homes. I'm a no because if you look at the studies, you effectively halt production... I don't want to see housing production stopped." - Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey

"The city now gets close to 80% of its electricity from burning natural gas, but pols continue to fight against upgrading existing power plants with more efficient, more reliable units." NY’s City Council members are just begging for blackouts https://t.co/p7Zf1V86Oi

Does DHS have a legal mechanism for adjudicating social service fraud?
Right now in Minneapolis, Homeland Security Investigations @ICEGov are on the ground conducting a large scale investigation on fraudulent daycare and healthcare centers, as well as other rampant fraud. More to come.

Today's reminder about NY's enduring car-theft problem (and Albany's related policy choices):
This blue BMW is getting pummeled. I don’t know why it’s parked there or why its windows are down but quite a few people are coming to see it. These are brutal conditions along Lake Erie in Hamburg. @WGRZ

Every state and federal lawmaker should get a breakdown like this for a different business every week.

Ah yes, the beautiful, privately built subway station that closed amid a government-imposed fare freeze.
EXCLUSIVE: @zohrankmamdani will be sworn in as mayor on midnight on January 1 inside the old abandoned City Hall subway station, saying that he sees the venue as a symbol for the aims of his upcoming administration.

Joe Rogan was born in 1967. This is ahistorical nonsense. Very few people got measles when he was growing up, and vaccines are the reason why
Joe Rogan: "Measles was what everyone got when I was a kid, and what happened was you'd get sick for a few days, and then you'd be immune for life. They're making it look like everyone's dying from measles."

It's remarkable how much Americans tolerate their small engines getting wrecked by ethanol-laced gas as our political class coddles the subsidy hounds in a few Midwest states.

Last year, ISO-NE wholesale energy costs averaged $48/MWHr. Rev Wind is guaranteed twice that ($99). Given that the project only got built because of massive state subsidies (paid for by ratepayers), Larson's figure seems to be a total fiction.
Energy bills in Connecticut are among the highest in the nation. Revolution Wind would save New England ratepayers $500 MILLION+ a year. Our entire Congressional delegation stands with @GovNedLamont and @AGWilliamTong in the fight to restore this project! https://t.co/5NeSy7GHR3

I wonder if that will show up in their state sales tax filings.

Alternatively one can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with taxpayers and riders.
Kathy Hochul just vetoed common-sense legislation requiring two conductors on every train. While she put riders and transit workers at risk, I stand shoulder to shoulder with @TWULocal100. Conductors are our eyes and ears, and the first line of defense against crime.
