This is a brilliant gesture as is the gesture made by BMC but… . The second you or an.Organisation helps out the governing body, it will ALWAYS be expected and before you know it, it’s the beginning of the end. UKA have huge sponsors and backing, it’s not your job Eilish/BMC.
@James_Athletics @BritishMilers I've also said I'm happy to cover the cost of any Scottish athletes selected at junior level. There's absolutely no way I'd let someone miss a Championship purely for not having the funds to go. .

The Podium handicap . A huge 36 second head start for the girls that includes the likes of Hollie Parker and Ty Brockley Langford before the boys try and hunt them down to cross the line first. Can the likes of Tyler Billyard and Tom Dodd chase down the lead in time ?

When I was a kid I watched World record attempts at Gateshead on the TV, we would then years later pay as a non athletics family to watch live. Terrestrial TV is killing athletics, and now killing athletics within the stadium.
The BBC has snubbed a world record attempt by Olympic golden girl Keely Hodgkinson on its main channels in favour of showing a film it aired as recently in October 2024 and a repeat of Flog It! . Her race on Saturday will iPlayer only. Strange decision.
